Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible

This policy covers the game “Stackle” (iPhone, Android and the web version) and this website. We keep data collection as small as possible: there are no accounts, and we never ask for your real name, email address or location.
2. The short version
- Your progress (levels, shards, cards, settings) is stored on your device.
- If you play Cascade or the rankings, we store a display name, country, scores, level and a random player ID on our server.
- At the moment Stackle has no ads, no in-app purchases and no tracking. We use no analytics tools of our own.
3. What we process
3.1 On your device (not sent to us)
Game progress, settings, the chosen display name, purchases and a random player ID are saved in the app's local storage. If you delete the app (or clear the website data), this information is gone. We cannot restore it, because we do not hold a copy.
3.2 Rankings (our server)
When you play Cascade, the daily rankings or the level ranking, the app sends these data to our server:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Display name you chose | shown in the rankings |
| Country flag (derived from your device language/region) | country rankings |
| Scores, cleared lines, the level you reached, week | build the rankings |
| Random player ID | recognise your own entry; no link to your identity |
| Round tokens and timing information | protect the rankings from cheating |
Like every web service, our hosting providers process technical connection data (for example your IP address) for a short time to deliver the content and to defend against abuse.
Names: display names are filtered. You can report a name with the flag icon next to it; reported players are hidden for you and reviewed by us.
3.3 Ads and purchases
There are none at the moment, so no advertising ID or other ad data is processed. If we add ads or purchases later, we will update this policy before they appear and ask for your choice where the law requires it.
3.4 Fonts and game files
Fonts and game files are loaded from our own server. We do not use Google Fonts or other third-party font services.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Running the game and rankings you ask for: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) (our legitimate interest in a working, fair service).
- Protection against cheating and abuse: Art. 6(1)(f).
5. Who receives data
- Hosting and database providers for the rankings and the game files (Cloudflare, Inc. for the game files and website; Supabase for the rankings database).
- The App Store / Google Play deliver the app to you; we receive no personal data from them.
Some providers are located outside the EU (for example in the USA). Where this happens, the transfer is based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep data
Ranking entries stay while they are relevant for the rankings (weekly results are kept for the all-time ranking). Technical connection data at our hosting providers is deleted after a short period. Data on your device stays until you delete the app.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To have your ranking entries deleted, write to stackle@web.de and tell us your display name (and, if you can, the player ID). You can also complain to a data protection authority.
8. Children
Stackle is meant for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children. If you think a child has used the rankings, please contact us and we will delete the entry.
9. Changes
If we change the game in a way that affects your data, we update this page and the “Last updated” date.
